Self-Portraits
The following are Platinum-Palladium self-portraits made from 4x5" negatives and contact printed, using a light box, on various watercolor and drawing papers. In three of the images, either the negative or the print was solarized.
The platinum-palladium prints were matted and framed. Years later I unframed them and scanned and printed them digitally on Hahnemuhle German Etching paper, this time revealing the original underlying brushstrokes of the platinum and palladium on the watercolor paper.
I am preparing another transformation using the scanned digital images, believing that my portraits can age and grow as I do, although retaining a fundamental sense of who I am.
